About the Artwork

A semi abstract expression of my travels to a city I visited which is famous for it's tombs of Sufi Saints. These men lived centuries ago at a time when they formed an important part of the society. Their burial places or shrines are now open to tourists who come there from all over the world. For the locals they are still places of prayer and meditation.
I have used in this painting some of the shapes, textures and patterns that I found characteristic of the area. Without going into the literal details I have tried to convey the feeling
