About the Artwork

A main rail line heading east from the city of Vancouver, an important step in the growth of our city. I Love trains and feel they need to be celebrated, and not just that but should be seen as a piece of our future as much as a piece of the past. The lines draw you in, through strong shadows, and under new structures, and new rail lines above for the skytrain.

Riley Nicholson

Vancouver, British Columbia

Searching for the beauty in areas between our destinations, in the industrial and liminal spaces that are both spectacular and without pretense, Riley Nicholson's work aims to capture these moments.

"Perhaps the things we take for granted are the most worth celebrating."
