About the Artwork

A majestic Male Big Horn in his prime basking in the failing light of day. His big horns aglow with the sun's warmth.

This painting was made from a reference photo I took while my daughter and I were visiting the local Zoo. They have some amazing animals and one I always wanted to capture was the Big Horn Sheep. They are so majestic and spectacular. I grew up with sheep and just love them and their personalities.

Jason Doucette

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Primarily focusing on wildlife, Jason paints in both watercolour and oil. He paints in a realistic style while maintaining a painterly effect; Jason's paintings give an intimate look into animals' secretive and stoic lives.

"As I create a painting I am intimately focused on the subject. Once it's complete and goes out into the world a piece of myself leaves with it, like saying goodbye to an old friend."
