                        About the Artwork

We almost lost the Sandhill Crane. Hunted mainly for food, it was at the precarious brink of extinction. It is a graceful bird that like all cranes, has a beautiful courtship dance. We are fortunate that their survival was championed by by George Archibald, amongst others, who played a key role in their comeback. I paint many cranes and herons dancing together and in flight. Their beauty and grace always entrances me.
