The art of kintsugi mends broken pottery pieces with gold so that cracks and repairs are seen as events in the life of the object. Similarly, we also see the brilliance of leaves emerge as they begin to decay and break apart in the fall. This composition contrasts opacity, reflective gold, and translucency to create an interplay illustrating differing stages of decomposition. The snippets of poetic calligraphy reiterate the of loveliness of trees.
