This painting is about the sky and the coming of spring foliage. Created in mid-May, I was drawn to how the sky looked more like a winter sky yet distant trees were showing the promise of spring - more lemon yellow than golden. I challenged myself to keep an overall muted palette to reflect the overarching greyness of the day.
