Lynn Canyon on the North Shore is a wonderful place to spend time in any season, but never is it as magical as it is in the summer months. This little alcove, hidden from the the main trailway and tucked under the brilliant green tree canopy at the the edge of the rushing creek, offers cooling relief from the summer heat. I painted the original study en plein air, balanced on a large flat rock opposite this enchanting scene, and chose the round format to support the idea of this being a hidden treasure; a magical, cool and clear-watered hideway.
