I have a dear friend who grows flowers on her sustainable flower farm in the Fraser Valley. When I'm feeling the need to paint masses of blooms, and my own garden is between seasons, I call on her. 'In From The Garden' features summery cosmos, achillea, larkspur, snap dragons and all the other bits and pieces of greenery and grasses that make her large arrangements so vital and exciting. Painting flowers, for me, is about place-holding...keeping a record and a visual diary of their fleeting beauty from one season to the next.
