The beautiful muted colours of rock – greyed blue and purple, rust, and gold inspired this painting. I found this rocky ravine while painting plein air in Kananaskis. My dog kept me company while I painted the study for this studio version. I marvelled at all the beautiful muted colours in the scene - so simple, yet full of life.
