A beloved picnic and gathering spot for many Calgarians is Elbow Falls. In the summer, the top of the falls dance with colour. Turquoise water shimmers over gold and orange rocks as it tumbles down over the edge. This is a studio painting from a plein air sketch I completed there. It's one of my favourite spots to paint when I need a break from the big city.
