Live Jury #1 The Old Arts building on the University of Alberta Campus is one of my favourite buildings in Edmonton with it’s neo-classical style, deeply carved acanthus cornice and combination of sandstone and red brick. Built in 1915, it was the most expensive building ever constructed in Edmonton. It is covered with virginia creeper and in the fall the intricate network of scarlet leaves are beguiling. The warm evening sun reflects off of the building opposite and filters through mature trees before painting the façade with dappled light.
