Painted from field studies close-to similar location. I used acrylic to maximize glazing and layering technique to create a sense of calm and silence. As Beavers are nocturne creatures and rarely seen at work. Clearly they leave a their mark of business after them and often resembles a natural construction site to keep the water levels high enough for them to reproduce and sharpen their teeth in the process. In this work I was trying to convey the calm after the storm through suggestion rather than explicit details.
