About the Artwork
I tried to capture the illusion of light in this wooded area of trees. The sun light coming through the trees got me thinking of a stage performance with the spotlight on the imagined performer dancing. This plays on the imagination of the viewer! What happened there, or what was going to happen? Was it a dance to welcome in the winter? or just the sunlight shining in through the trees. I kept the shapes simple and suggestive of detail with the use of lost and found edges and a tonal palette of soft subtle colours.
