This chair has been my sanctuary throughout many difficult times, my refuge from the world around us. Comforted by it, I have been able to immerse myself in stories and take much needed breaks to lift my spirits. I think we all need the simple pleasures of a personal sanctuary.

Veronica Funk
Airdrie, Alberta
Veronica Funk was raised in northern Manitoba, studied Art & Design at Red Deer College and is currently studying Art History through Thompson Rivers University. The focus of her work is to create stories through layers of acrylic colour and pattern, inspired by contemporary street art.
"Even after completing and exhibiting my work numerous times throughout the years, I still question myself. I wonder if I'm good enough but then remind myself to focus on the process, not the end results."
