The Quiet Light came from a subconscious place. My mind was in a far away place when I started draw into wet paint with a silicone scraper. The trees appeared magically. Once I saw them I focused in on the light coming from behind. I wanted to capture the quiet, gentle mood of that light and how it brought everything to life, and to then transport you to a gentle peace of mind.

"At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response."
