I started listening to Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor as I played around with paint on a board, and a flood of memories and emotions came forth, as did the first iteration of this painting. As we have all experienced, music has an incredible power to move us deeply, as it reactivates areas of the brain associated with memory, reasoning, and emotion. Often when we least expect it!. Another amazing discovery about life.

My addiction is to the magical state of direct experience, when the thinking mind leaves me alone, and I am free to discover new possibilities and express the joy and vitality of some aspect of life through painting. I am also inspired to stimulate this in others.
