About the Artwork

This painting was inspired by the breathtaking natural beauty of Deep Cove B.C.
I often go there to glaze the horizon where the mountains, water and clouds meet.
I love the vivid colours of the canoes against the blue water paddling, creating gentle calming ripples.
This is a very special place for me where I find the serenity of time and nature.

Inoka Manori LaVallee

Surrey, British Columbia

I was schooled in the tradition of the old masters, undertaking intensive study of their techniques and methods. As a student I had access to some of the world's greatest art, found in the Pushkin Museum and The Hermitage.

""I love colour and its life within light and shadow," "The memory of colour stays with me as I paint." "For me, the world presents endless possibilities--whether it be landscape, portraiture, or still life." My strongest desire is to feel the painting."
