Not For Sale
When a fellow painter recently described me as a “colourist” a little light went on: of course, that explains it! Now I am unabashedly pursuing the expression of light through colour, and one beauty of oil paint is how it permits an interplay of transparent and opaque that allows light to permeate form. In my portrait of Jennie this all came together to reveal how she is lit from within as well as from without. We older women have a lot going on!
