About the Artwork

Rainy Day in Carburn Park invites the viewer into a familiar Calgary landscape transformed by weather into something quietly luminous. In this acrylic work, Victoria Zyluk embraces a bold, expressive palette — violets, moss greens, soft golds, and the tender blush of a shifting sky — to explore how rain alters perception, softening edges while heightening colour and mood.

The reflective water at the centre becomes the painting’s calm anchor, holding mauves and pinks that echo the sky’s fleeting light. Along the left bank, birch‑like trunks rise in gentle clusters, their pale bark glowing against deep, rain‑saturated greens.

CALGARY, Alberta

“Victoria Zyluk, a landscape artist, exhibitor, and devoted champion of the Arts across Canada, blends watercolour’s breath with acrylic’s boldness. Through textured, abstract impressionism, she evokes places felt as much as seen—inviting viewers into landscapes where memory, movement, and imagination quietly converge.”

"Quote: “ My Art encourages possibilities .Both artist and viewer should ask “What if……? And so release those possibilities! “"
