About the Artwork

This painting was inspired by feelings of transformation and opening to new ways of being in the world. The figure is emerging from a protective, hidden layer, and is accepting vulnerability within their surroundings. Victoria Mitchell

Vancouver, British Columbia

Victoria Mitchell explores emotional, visceral, and environmental sensitivities, through abstract and representational drawings and paintings. She is influenced by extensive studies of body structure and kinetics, and is strongly inspired by connections with our natural surroundings.

"While painting, I absorb into the exploration of environmental, physical & emotional dynamics. These expressions which might otherwise go undefined, demonstrate connections between these different realms of experience. The opportunity for introspection and sharing, brings me excitement and joy in the creation of each piece."
