The Great Blue Heron is a beloved bird in Canada, particularly where they concentrate in the Lower Mainland of BC. They are protected and identified as a species at risk with low population and few breeding colonies. I chose the title "Patience", as these birds are often spotted sitting silently and gracefully, waiting for fish to approach. The piece is made of acrylic paint, papers, and fabric. "Patience" was created based on my photograph of a Great Blue Heron sitting in Blackie Spit, Surrey.
