Shapes and shadows have always attracted me, especially when they involve rocks and water. In “Close to Shore” I particularly like the softened, rounded shapes of the river rocks and the small faint shapes of the underwater stones in the shadows. The slight movement of the water along the calm river’s shore creates interesting patterns of gentle undulating ripples along edges of the shadows.
