About the Artwork

Flow state is the melting together of action and consciousness; the state of finding a balance between a skill and how challenging that task is. In essence, flow state is characterized by the complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting transformation in one's sense of time. This painting depicts my favourite time of day on the sailboat. Dusk comes along and the wind begins to calm and the ocean looks like molten liquid with smooth reflections. It is a time to be at one with the water, with the wind and with the world in flow state.
