This painting borrows the structure of a garden without attempting to describe one. Colour blocks in orange, magenta and olive press up against gestural passages and delicate drawn lines, building a sense of layered discovery. The title holds the feeling I was after: that moment of stepping through a threshold, not quite knowing what you'll find on the other side.

My paintings are simultaneous explorations of what I see, where I’ve been and how I want to feel. Like me, they are multilayered, complex and full of surprises. I learn something new about myself with each new piece.
"I am unapologetic in my use of colour. The world is a bright, beautiful place and I want to express this in my work."
