An exuberant burst of colour and intriguing organic shapes, ‘California Superbloom’ is a painting that needs to be experienced. I began this painting as part of a live demonstration at a local art event. The evening was sunny and hot and I was surrounded by summer solstice excitement and energy. The limited palette provided an additional challenge; one which was a resounding success. Note how the orange shimmers and sits just in front of the deep purple shapes. It’s a magical, cosmic, 3-D piece that suits both a dark and mysterious decor and a sunny, naturally lit one.

My paintings are simultaneous explorations of what I see, where I’ve been and how I want to feel. Like me, they are multilayered, complex and full of surprises. I learn something new about myself with each new piece.
"I am unapologetic in my use of colour. The world is a bright, beautiful place and I want to express this in my work."
