About the Artwork
I love how flowers can be so easily abstracted and yet still be fully comprehended as flowers. This style of painting is very meditative for me as I decide, one by one, what colours to paint each shape and reflecting upon the joy that flowers, real or imagined, always bring to a room. Hence the title I gave this painting, because a bouquet is always “sunny side up.”
