"Night Shift" speaks about the mysterious world that happens beneath the water's surface. For this painting I used a palette of colour devised by Goethe. He was interested in colour psychology and he named various colour combinations as he saw them representing different states of mind. I chose to limit myself to shades of blue, purple and green which he called a melancholy palette. I found that it enhanced the sense of mystery we feel when we stare into the water and try to imagine what are the shapes and form we see below.
