Boxed Roses
I first painted this 8" x 8" x 3" canvas on all sides to create a 3 dimensional view of some roses. Once done, it seemed small and lacking the presense I had hoped for. I decided to make a mirror frame for it, to expand its viewing options. That created some intrigue but the black frame seemed too harsh and cold so I decided to paint leaves on it to soften the final composition.
