About the Artwork

the circular motion of the seasons represented by the Alberta Wild Hare which changes it coat to suit its environment seasonally. Named after the Joni Mitchell song which lyrics really exemplify the theme of this work. Using metallic paints I furthered the texture and the theme with recurring circles. The fire-weed represents the resiliency of nature through disturbance and change: fire-weed growing wherever ground is disturbed and logged. Through the golden hallow oculus you see the possibility of winter amidst the summer as it stands, demonstrating it's inevitability.
