Birches were quite rare in the area I grew up in northern BC where there were mostly aspens, but we had a few on our property that we would go visit from time to time. They were out in the back across a clearing, and I think it must be their rarity that made them so special to us. I moved away long ago, so I don't know if they're still there, but I can still picture them clearly.

Sheila Van Delft is a visual artist who paints landscape and wildlife with sensitivity and thoughtfulness and hopes to bring a little of the wilds into the homes of her collectors. Her images include a wide variety of subjects such as mountains, forests, lakes, rivers, and BC birds and wildlife.
"I have been an artist since I was a child and can’t imagine my life without painting. My favourite subjects to paint are landscape and wildlife so it’s amazing to be able to paint what I see around me every day."
