A weathered maple leaf rests upon moving water—a quiet symbol of Canada and the people who call it home. Marked by the season and the journey that brought it here, the leaf carries its history with it, much as generations of Canadians have been shaped by the challenges, changes and experiences of their own time.
Water has always represented movement, change, reflection and the passage of time. Beneath the surface lie the remnants of what has already fallen, while above them the maple leaf is carried upon an ever-changing current.
Reflection is not intended to provide an answer, but to invite a moment of pause—to consider where we have been, where we are, what has shaped us, and who we choose to be as the current carries us forward.

Shawn Robichaud, AFCA
St. Charles, Ontario
Northern Ontario realist painter Shawn Robichaud, AFCA, works primarily in oils, drawing inspiration from the Canadian landscape, rural heritage and natural light. His paintings combine detailed realism with atmosphere and mood, exploring the quiet presence of place and the memories and emotions landscapes can carry.
"“I’m not interested in simply painting what a place looks like. I want to capture what it feels like—the light, the atmosphere, the stillness, and sometimes the memory held within it. If a painting makes someone pause and feel something, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.”"
