About the Artwork

There is dissension, division and malice; the church is infected.

There is slander, strife and gossip; the church is infected.

There is hostility, quarrelling and jealousy; the church is infected.

There is selfish ambition, deceit and hypocrisy; the church is infected.

The infected, those in sheep’s clothing. Outwardly they portrait an image of God, an image of holiness. They are the ones deceiving and poisoning the body of Christ; the church.

Shawn Robichaud, AFCA

St. Charles, Ontario

Northern Ontario realist painter Shawn Robichaud, AFCA, works primarily in oils, drawing inspiration from the Canadian landscape, rural heritage and natural light. His paintings combine detailed realism with atmosphere and mood, exploring the quiet presence of place and the memories and emotions landscapes can carry.

"“I’m not interested in simply painting what a place looks like. I want to capture what it feels like—the light, the atmosphere, the stillness, and sometimes the memory held within it. If a painting makes someone pause and feel something, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.”"
