On one of my many painting excursions to West vancouver, I stumbled across this scene at Golden Hour one summer, Everything was perfect, the yellow boat and the light made for a stunning scene. Trying to capture the out of focus background was an interesting challenge, the blue of the sky took many, many glazed layers of different blues and the super dark foreground needed to be cool and dark but still interesting. My favourite aspect of this painting though, is the composition, the gangplank just takes the viewer right into the painting.

Scotts style can be described as bold, energetic, dynamic. He has the ability to draw and paint very accurately and also turn his hand to a looser style as well. He is inspired by many things in the world around him, figures, architecture, landscapes, seascapes, and mostly colour and light.
"Its all in the moment, that fleeting glance when the light hits just right and you find the perfect composition, then you capture the essence of what inspired you at that very moment in time, thats what my art is all about - Scott Pleydell-Pearce"
