About the Artwork

"Remember" is another of my Treaty 7 Series, and is a tribute to the mighty bison that once number in the tens of millions across North America.
The background is a hand painted representation in archival pigment of a map from 1891 that recorded the location across Canada of all reservations under all 11 Treaties. I included only the region encompassing the land under Treaty 7 in Alberta and Montana.
The bison with its reflection beneath is done to help us reflect on the past, the land and what is lost forever in hopes we always remember our history and
