About the Artwork

In this painting the Escarpment is suspended between abstraction and realism, depicting a cliff face eroded by time, its surface marked by fractures and veils. Cool blues and mineral greys dominate the palette punctuated by flashes of turquoise and rust. These accents interrupt the calm and hint at the slow drama of change. Layered textures and made and found collage papers help create a sense of depth. It’s the silent poetry of a landscape that holds stories long after they have changed.
