The painting “Unmasked Mask” reminds us of the power of an epidemic to swiftly change lives. This is from a series where I documented discarded masks throughout the Covid epidemic and created a series of paintings. This painting is an agitated reminder that people are still suffering and dying from diseases that are preventable. Vaccines provide herd immunity: protection for us all, but especially for our most vulnerable populations.
