My favourite sushi bar in Los Angeles was an Architectural Wonder and the sushi was served in the most creative way that one could imagine. The serving platters were made from woven pine needles. My memories of evenings spent there dining on gyoza and grilled octopus were the inspiration for this painting. The painting is round and framed as a square.
