About the Artwork
At some point while painting this work I took a painting knife, mixed the greenish-blue colour of sky and covered a big piece of canvas with the colour. It gave me the idea to change the fine brushstrokes of the painting for the thick and bold strokes of a painting knife. I am pleased with a result of the painting, but even more to the point, I enjoyed it because the process was leading me, when often it is the other way around.
