Among the photos I snapped one quite ordinary afternoon hanging out with my little grandson were one or two that evoked something special, an in-between expression that hovered between the inward and the outward. Magically, a glowing fairytale quality emerged in this painting as I translated my feelings into paint. The title I chose, based on a quote from this same youngster, seemed to echo that inward/outward space – and also resonates with the communication between artist and audience. As I paint I am indeed talking to you in my mind!
