Fittingly enough, it was my sixteenth wedding anniversary when I finished painting “Ripples,“ a memento of my honeymoon all those years ago. My goal with the painting was to keep a light touch with the colouration and treatment of the water, to convey the sheer pleasure of the pose. But I believe what also comes through is the bravery of being in the moment, knowing the ripples will keep shifting, flowing and changing, making their endless patterns in time.

"In painting as in life, whatever distance you travel just opens up further vistas for exploration. Subtleties, bold statements, complexities of relationships, colour, colour, colour. I wish I could paint forever!"
