“Empty House” is one of seven works investigating the “Dark House” of the psyche. In each painting, the female subject is loosely identified with a particular insect, in this case the moth. As I developed the theme, the act of looking blindfold into a mirror seemed to hold potential for reverberating both outward and inward.

"In painting as in life, whatever distance you travel just opens up further vistas for exploration. Subtleties, bold statements, complexities of relationships, colour, colour, colour. I wish I could paint forever!"
