About the Artwork
Firewood in the woodshed is essential for Hornby Island life. When I moved to Canada in 1979, I soon learned about firewood, what deer like to eat and the wisdom of owning a bike. In this painting I wanted to convey the warm natural light of the late afternoon on the island.
