This little painting was created to capture the sense of calm I feel whenever I’m near water—even at the tiny marsh just down the road from home. The textures and softly blended colours bring to mind the wetland’s gentle grasses and golden reeds, tangled with algae and teeming with all sorts of “lodgers”—finny and feathered residents who happily thrive in its shallow waters.
