My thoughts while painting this painting were to allow many magnolia blossoms to emerge from a tapestry of layered shapes, branches, and botanical echoes. Some flowers are fully present while others remain as delicate traces, such as memories suspended in light. I am interested in the way nature holds multiple moments at once, the bloom we see, the bloom that has passed, and the bloom yet to come. By combining realism with drawn and transparent forms, I wanted to create a space where observation and imagination meet. This piece is a reflection on growth, renewal, and the quiet beauty that exists beneath the surface of what we see.
