About the Artwork

I’ve always been fascinated by herons, and especially love their long legs, broad wings, and s-shape necks. In this dreamlike scene with soft pastel colours, a heron is patiently standing in shallow water, waiting for its prey to come within range. The flock of birds flying freely above doesn’t distract the heron from its purpose. Its focus and determination are admirable.
