About the Artwork
Plein air painting is in my blood - no excess of imagination can match what I might uncover through direct observation as long as I am open to the unexpected. "Bright Shore of the Similkameen", is a direct translation of small painting I did on location as the sun began to duck down behind the trees on the opposite shore. The end of a brilliant spring day, revealing the meeting of the solidity of the land and the fluidity of the river.
