Reflections, beautiful light and interesting shadows are the main things I look for when taking photographs to paint from. The right light playing on the water, or casting long gloomy shadows, can turn an ordinary snapshot into something amazing. This photo was taken in St. Tropez, France in May of 2019. An evening walk along the water and my iPhone combined for one of my favorite photos of the trip.
