About the Artwork

What better place to isolate yourself than in a single kayak floating through the wetlands. I did this painting during the forest fires surrounding our cabin a couple of summers ago. It was one of very few smoke free days and floating through the quiet and peace of the wetlands was peaceful and calming.

Lori Lees-Stout

Surrey, British Columbia

Lori always uses vibrant colour in her artwork no matter what the subject is. Her imagination will change the colour and size and location of her subject and often add hidden elements to her work. Larger than life and brighter and bolder than life is her signature.

"I believe art work should bring a sense of joy into your life. It is not just the artwork itself but what is hidden within the piece that speaks to the viewer. When I paint something I do not just see the object but what may be hidden within."
