Having open, running rivers in January and February is now common in the north. With global warming we are also seeing more eagles all year round. This image depicts the impressive raptors patiently standing in the sun on the icy ledges of the Nechako river bank. They are hopeful for their next meal and can count on a cold drink of water while waiting at the very least.
