About the Artwork

"Evening Lights Over the River" was inspired by a peaceful evening view along the Grand River in Cayuga. As the sun began to set, the warm glow of the sky reflected across the water while the traffic lights over the bridge created a beautiful sparkle of light. I was drawn to the contrast between the cooler moody blues of the evening and the warmth of the sunset tones.

This piece became a study in reflection, atmosphere, and quiet moments close to home. I wanted it to feel calm and familiar.

Cayuga, Ontario

I am an impressionistic landscape painter living in Cayuga, Ontario with my hubby Adam, daughter Clementine and our feisty Pug Rommie. I paint and teach art classes in our historic 1840's brick farmhouse named Wildwood.

"I strive to live in the-moment, find beauty in the storm, take chances, dream big, make mistakes, dust myself off, and abide by the law of attraction; you are what you think so why not think up a big, beautiful landscape!"
